The Tablette Reference 8 is part of ProAc's long-running Tablette lineup, a mini-monitor series that has been in continuous production since 1979. This model returns to the Tablette's original compact dimensions, following years of the range growing larger to accommodate deeper bass and greater power handling.
The speaker features a compact two-way design measuring 10.5" (H) x 6" (W) x 9" (D), with a driver complement consisting of a 4.5" doped woofer and a 1" silk dome tweeter.
The crossover uses high-quality components on a dedicated circuit board with multistrand oxygen-free cable throughout, split to support both bi-wiring and bi-amping. Connectivity is handled via five-way binding post terminals.
The Tablette Reference 8 has a sensitivity of 86dB, a nominal impedance of 8 Ohms, and a stated frequency range of 38Hz–30kHz (no tolerance specified). Recommended amplifier power ranges from 10 to 100 watts at 8 Ohms.
For setup, ProAc recommends positioning the speakers with the listener's ears at or slightly below tweeter height, toed in toward the listening position, and placed away from rear walls on stable, heavy stands. A break-in period of at least one week of continuous playback is recommended before critical listening.
