The Jadis DPL and Defy 7 make a matched pre and power amplifier set from Jadis, the celebrated French valve specialist whose hand-built, gold-trimmed amplifiers have been prized by audiophiles around the world for decades. Built in Villedubert in the south of France, Jadis amplifiers are known for a sound that is rich, lush and full of life, along with real authority and scale. This pairing combines Jadis's classic line preamplifier with its powerful 100W stereo power amplifier. It's a complete, cohesive all-valve front end, designed to work together.
Design & Engineering
The Jadis DPL is an all-valve line preamplifier that uses a mix of 12AX7 and 12AU7 tubes. Its simple, high-quality signal path delivers the warmth, transparency and three-dimensional imaging Jadis is famous for.
The Jadis Defy 7 is a stereo valve power amplifier rated at 100W per channel into both 8 and 4 ohms. That's serious power for a tube design, so it can drive a much wider range of loudspeakers than typical low-powered valve amps. It runs on a push-pull output stage, and its massive transformers and solid build give it the control and dynamic punch to handle full orchestras and big rock recordings while keeping the midrange beauty and natural tone that make valves so special. Both units have Jadis's iconic chrome-and-gold styling and visible glowing tubes, so the set looks as special as it sounds.
