The Sonus Faber Liuto Monitor is a two-way Italian bookshelf speaker launched in 2009 as part of the Liuto range, which replaced the Domus series. Named after the Italian word for “lute”, it brings Sonus Faber’s signature lute-shaped cabinet and handcrafted, made-in-Italy build to a more accessible price.
Known for its warm, musical sound, the Liuto Monitor delivers natural vocals, a well-scaled soundstage and surprisingly full bass for a compact standmount speaker, making it ideal for jazz, classical and acoustic music.
Design & Engineering
The Liuto Monitor pairs a 150 mm polypropylene/textile mid/bass driver with a 25 mm soft-dome tweeter, crossed over at 3.5 kHz. Its rear-ported, lute-shaped cabinet features a leather-clad front baffle that reduces resonance, and it comes finished in high-gloss piano black.
