The 30mm platter is machined from POM (polyoxymethylene), a dense, resonance-damping material. It spins on a polished tempered-steel shaft in a sintered bronze bushing with a Teflon thrust pad, for quiet, stable rotation. The matching Clearaudio tonearm uses a frictionless magnetic bearing, an unusual feature at this price, which gives clean tracking and fine detail retrieval.
