Cutting edge cabinets
Loudspeaker cabinets do influence the sound of a loudspeaker. The larger the enclosure, the greater the effort to prevent tonal discolouration In all the large Audio Physic models, intelligently modelled loudspeaker cabinets guarantee the utmost in neutrality.
The Classic 20 features a sandwich construction made of several materials. The inner layer is 12 millimetres and features a 2 mm middle layer between two layers made of closed-cell high-tech acrylate resins. This ensures unusually low sound permeability from sound penetrating the outside of the speakers.
High-end tempered glass
The Classic 20 also comes in a high-gloss version that has exterior panels made of glass. Effective adhesive further eliminates the possibility of glass surfaces developing their own acoustics and takes away the ringing effect. In fact, the glass further “tightens” the build of the Classic 20, giving it greater clarity and cabinet stiffness.
Audio Physic regularly pushes the edge of what’s possible in acoustic design. The redesigned Classic 20 places the woofer in it’s own compartment. The woofer is also mounted to reduce the impact of vibrations on its body. This enables a stunningly low frequency performance that packs a powerful punch. In fact, the Audio Physic Classic 20 creates a low frequency performance that bestows the illusion of a much larger soundstage possible from the room. The listener is rewarded with not only a highly profound and accurate bass, but a remarkably high definition, clarity, and superior soundstage Audio Physic is known for.
Cutting edge drivers
The newly-developed mid-range and tweeters and high-performance drivers. The mid-range driver has narrow cone mounts, a fixed phase plug, oversized drive and fiber reinforced paper membrane.
The Audio Physic Classic 20 uses the technologically advanced WBT Nextgen terminals as a standard. These also serve to eliminate ground storage effects and noticeably minimize micro-vibrations.
We enjoy the Audio Physic 20 because it reproduces a “high-end” performance, which is a testament to Audio Physic’s motto of “No Loss of Fine Detail”. The speakers are equally at home with high-end listening performances or even home theatre use.
